My President...

Well its only fitting that I said something about this piece of world history in the making...I really am at a loss for words. I remember when he was elected I'm all the way in Spain up at 6am watching CNN live watching the millions of people who gathered in Chicago to witness history in person. All I did was cry tears of joy because I think of how far my people have come. From slavery to jim crow, being to sit-ins, protests, marching for our freedom now to see a black man (mulatto man lol) as the president of the United States of America is truly an amazing accomplishment. They use to sing..."O deep in my heart, I do believe, that we shall overcome someday" and we have. I know our ancestors are smiling down right now and what a better birthday present to give Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. than his dream many years in the making is finally coming true!

The famous I have a dream speech:

Our President Barack Obama: A More Perfect Union Speech

Now you know I gotta end all of this with a song! Here it goes the live performance of "My President is Black (REMIX) Jay-Z absolutely killed it this was his rhyme:

My president is black, in fact hes half white
So in even in a racist mind hes half right
If you got a racist mind its all right
My president is black but his house is all white

Rosa Parks sat so Martin Luther can walk
Martin Luther walked so Barack Obama could run
Obama ran so all our children can fly
So Imma spread my wings you can meet in the sky

Here's the performance

First Half: Season Re-Cap

Iight so I haven't been doing a good job of talking about how I'm playing so far so here we go...

Team Record: 10-4

My Statline for the first half of the season:
Games Played: 13 Minutes played: 417:03 Points: 167 (12.8)
2pt Field Goal: 72/147 49% 3pt Fied Goal: 0/3 0% Total Field Goal: 72/150 48%
Free Throw: 23/33 70% Def Rebounds: 91 Off Rebounds: 45 Total Rebounds: 136 (10.4)
Assists: 20 Turnovers: 27 Blocks: 8 Fouls: 20 People foulin me: 36
Value: *240*
***The Value is the most important of all the stats. What a value is a statistic of your total game its not just about points and rebounds its everything. I can best compare it to a plus minus system like at school...miss a shot (-) turnover (-) assist (+) made basket (+) and so on... ***

My assessment of how I'm playing:

Defense: Well my defense is horrendous. That's a hurter because I use to be a tenacious defender (on the wing) which gave me my All-Big 12 first team all-defensive honors in 2005-06 season. What the hell is my problem I couldn't tell you. I'ts getting a little better but I bet scouting reports are killing me. I have to get it together in a hurry. My timing is still really off with the blocks. Trying to block someone's shot is what ended my dreams of being drafted in the WNBA in 2007 (Mock draft had me 34th pick). The fear of blowing my knee out is leaving me and I am jumping more and more by the day so hopefully my timing will come back soon. Help side defense...umm what is that? exactly I am the worst I just don't be paying attention...damn shame because I use to be so on point you just don't understand!!

Offense: What it boils down to is that I have no offensive game at the moment. I am use to getting buckets!! Shit, getting buckets is what I do!! Well not in Spain unfortunately. Am I getting the touches I like...no but with that being said I need to capitalize the touches I do get. I mean missing layups and easy wide open jump shots is so frustrating I'm going crazy. My jumpshot is flawless! The damn ball just don't go in...maybe it's lack of concentration on my part. That's the only thing I can think of I mean mechanically I'm good, fatigue is not an issue I'm in great shape. So Jumper...can you please fall for me...pleeeeasseee!!! I run the floor like crazy I always get at least 2 easy fast break lay-ups.

Rebounding: I AM A BEAST. POINT BLANK PERIOD. I reached my personal best 17 boards on two occasions already...my goal is to have a twenty+ breakout one game. I can do it I know that for a fact.

All and All: To have sat out for a year and a half rehabbing a torn ACL and MCL for this to be my first year back I aint doin that bad. I just have to step up and take my game to another level this second half of the season. I have alot in me and the beast still aint came out yet except when I'm offensive rebounding lol but I am slowly but surely becomming the Tish of old.

Streets of Madrid

After my adventure of taking the Metro I finally get to the big city. For starters, I hate the metro, its confusing to me and I always end up lost. Where I am from we don't have subways, so all of this is new to me! Anyways, I step out of the Metro station and I look up and saw huge beautiful buildings. I had to stop which caused the people behind me to get aggrivated but damn it's a little breath taking. The architecture is crazy! It's like the movies! I couldnt tell you what part of the city I was in but I walked around all day. I saw Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace (the garden thing was beautiful) and just a rack of different places those two are the ones that stick out in my head right now.

It had to be a million people walking around and because the streets were so tiny I thought the area was pedestrian only. Wrong. Cars be scootin through those streets with people everywhere, they act like they in a big rush. I almost go hit once because I was just chillin standing in the middle of the street and a car was coming I was looking at the driver like he was crazy. My friend yelled "Tish get out the street!" I'm like "Oh my fault I didn't know this was a real street". I thought the car was in the wrong. lol

There are restaraunts of all nationalities there. American, Irish, Cuban, Chinese, Japanese, Indian the list goes on! Whatever you are in the mood for you can find it in Madrid and you will love it! I chose to eat at KFC! I felt like I was home, except for the fact that you don't get biscuits with your meal :(, you get french fries. Other than that the chicken was ohh so good lol! There was also alot of fresh seafood and Tapia places. It was so crowded the day I went I couldn't try the Tapia place that my friend raved about.

On Sundays they have this huge street market. They sell any and everything...for the low low! It was sooo many people though and too many people make me aggrivated and nervous. I was trying my best to enjoy it but people kept bumping into me and if somebody would have stepped on my shoes it would have been a problem. "Do what you do but watch my shoes...you'll get blues if you dont watch my shoes!"

A downer to walking around was seeing all of the crazy and poor people begging for money. Because of that you have to hold your bags because of pick pocketers. I see homeless people back home but nothing like this. I mean a man dressed like peter pan playing this flute thing walked up on me an was holding his hand out. I'm like "Peter you better move!" I asked my friend do people normally walk up to you and she said no. I guess he looked at me like I was his pay day. Crazy lady worshiping the ground and crying it was a mess. I saw this man with no legs and he had an old dog and a puppy and he was having the puppy do tricks. I lost it by then, I started tearing up. Yes I'm a sensitive one but after seeing all of those poor people by the time i saw this man I couldn't take no more I just hate seeing people living like that. This one man had me cracking up though he had a sign talking bout I need money for wine. lol at least that man was honest.

There are many many stores, boutiques, shops its crazy. Only problem is that every day shoe store I went into their shoe sizes stopped at a size 45...well i wear a 48!! The cutest boots and casual shoes that I would looove to take back to the states but nooo big foot Tish is out of luck. The shop place is Puerta de Sol its like 3 miles of shops if I'm in the City you can most likely find me walking around there!

The city is cool. It's plenty of things to do (even for american's like me whose spanish is terrible), great places to eat, great shopping, extravigant (college word lol) sites, and a real diversed group of people.

A Break From The Action

First off, today when I finally woke up I saw that rapper Lil Wayne was going to be arguing with Skip on one of my favorite shows 1st and 10. First thought, "WHAT THE HELL?!?!" I know ESPN don't need the ratings that bad to have these rappers on the show. Last year I saw the ending of when Nelly was on the show and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I mean we all have our "professional" voices but damn!!!!! Mr. Country Grammer himself?? Wasn't nothing country about his grammar at all that day! But, Lil Wayne did a good job. He was calm, real mild mannered and showed he had knowledge of what he was talking about. But Skip!! Lord! He said "I'm a big Prince fan and Tha Carter 3 is your Purple Rain" I damn near lost it. LOL anyways, here is the first short clip of the episode in case u missed it.

My Song of the Day is....Kerri Hilson feat. Lil Wayne

This my anthem right here!!

Hot Lyric Line...All you wanna do is holla at the cutest
